Okay Batties, let’s talk about us baby, let’s talk about you and me, let’s talk about us (lol, remind you of a song)? Seriously, how many of us can be practically crippled by self-doubt and fear of what other people might be thinking about us?
I want to address this, as worrying about what others are thinking used to be one of my most time consuming practices. I could tie myself up in knots over whether someone liked me, or approved of what I was wearing, or saying, and a hundred other silly things!
If we stopped and thought about it, do we really believe that other people are watching us all the time or even care about what we’re up to? When I got upset over something that I thought someone might be thinking about me, my husband used to say, “Get over yourself,” bringing me down from super stardom to normality in a heartbeat!
His remark always makes me laugh, as it puts things in to perspective. I mean really, am I so important that others are watching my every move?
So for those of you filled with self-doubt, ask yourself:
Can they see inside your mind or you in theirs?
What were your friends wearing last time you saw them?
Do you wonder what they’re up to all the time (if you answered yes to that one, you maybe need some serious help, lol)?
I’m sure you’re getting the gist of what I’m saying. I will leave you with a famous quote;
“What other people think of you is none of your business.” – Paulo Coelho
